Information for referring vets

Naturally, as vets, we aim to offer the best care for our patients but what do we do when owners cannot afford our fees or the cost of specialist referral?

Do you wonder what to do with the un-insured dog or cat with a fractured pelvis, cruciate rupture, pyometra or recurrent blocked bladder?

If you have clients that are not eligible for referral to a charity I may be able to provide an affordable alternative. I have over thirty years experience and am currently studying for my surgery certificate. My aim is to bridge the gap between private practice and charity referral.

Please note that this is only for clients who are referred by their veterinary surgeon and cannot afford referral to a specialist or who are not eligible for charity referral. Specialist referral or treatment by the client’s own vet should be the preferred option where-ever possible.

Procedures offered include:

  • fracture repair (including pelvic plating and sacro-iliac luxation repair)
  • carpal arthrodesis
  • cranial cruciate ligament injury(lateral retinacular suture, TTA-R)
  • feline perineal urethrostomy
  • perineal rupture (hernia)
  • TECA
  • thyroidectomy (feline)
  • laryngeal tie-back
  • brachycephalic airway disease surgery
  • porto-systemic shunt surgery
  • skin grafts
  • collar wounds
  • feline mandibular fractures
  • feline nosectomy
  • mandibulectomy
